Many made after prom a success

Thanks to the efforts and contributions of so many, the annual after prom party for students of IHS and their dates was another success this year. The after prom party is organized annually to provide a safe and enjoyable post prom option for attendees of the IHS prom and has been a successful tradition for over fifteen years.
We wish to formally thank all of those involved in this great venture for providing our children such a fun and memorable experience.
Although the parties have varied over the years, traditionally prizes are given out throughout the night to entice attendees to stay for the duration, with prizes growing in value until the close of the night.
Attendance this year was great and steady throughout the duration. The grand prize this year was $1,000. Students seemed to thoroughly enjoy every aspect of the party from prizes big and small to the delicious food and engaging activities. Words cannot describe the memories that were made at this year’s party.
First, we’d like to thank all of the parents and grandparents who volunteered to help with the planning of the after prom party. Amy White and Lisa Anaya were co-chairs this year and were responsible in the organization of the committee that met throughout the school year. Amy kindly hosted regular meetings at her home and created a Facebook group page that allowed the committee to easily communicate beyond meetings. The committee worked diligently together to host several fundraisers, including a sheet fundraiser, candygram sale and bake sales. The committee also contacted community members and business owners for donations. The committee members were: White, Anaya, Larry Wilson, Debbi Jones, Connie Franz, Kelly Preston, Chris Ashley, Brenda Thompson, Amanda Sherrill, Shelley Carrico, Missy Klaiber, Melissa Jenkins, Rayetta Wise, Teresa Stager, Carla Blankenship and Scott and Emily Sanders. We’d like to thank Amy, Lisa and the entire committee for their ongoing efforts! Without their imitative and commitment, the party would not have been such a success.
Next, we would also like to thank all of those who volunteered their time to help with the party. Mr. Joseph Rowe, Mr. Wes Harriston, Wayne and Peanut Dodgion as wells as many other committee members and volunteers were in attendance throughout the night to help chaperone and serve food.
Finally, we are so very thankful and honored to list the following contributors whose donations are so appreciated. Thanks again from the students and parents for the wonderful gift you have so graciously given us.
We would also like to thank Spare Time Recreation for staying open throughout the evening to accommodate the after prom party year after year. Also, we wish to thank the following for their contributions:
