PINE GROVE — The Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes did not have a triple crown winner this year.
The Ladies’ Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton Country Club did celebrate a three-time winner.
Pat Lambert enjoyed a triple treat as she won three events during the regular Tuesday morning outing. Sharon Fox won the only other event.
Pat Riggs served as the hostess and served breakfast treats at the 9:30 a.m. business meeting. She then listed the day’s event and announced the winners prior to lunch.
The Ladies will play a bonus day this week. The group will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Ladies do not need to be a member to play.
Next week’s hostess will be Lambert.
The club meets each Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. for a brief business meeting and breakfast treats. After golfing at 10 a.m., the group gathers for lunch and winners are announced.
The club is always accepting new members and women do not have to be a member of the Ironton Country Club to join the Ladies Nine Hole League.
Also, Friday evenings are Couples’ Night with a 5:30 p.m. starting time for nine holes of golf. There will be appetizers following play.
