RIO GRANDE — One good run deserves another.
The Fairland Lady Dragons ran well and won the Division III district cross country title on Saturday at the University of Rio Grande.
With the win the Lady Dragons now advance to the regional meet next Saturday.
The Lady Dragons’ team of Deanna Hall, McKenna Pannell, Olivia Lewis, Olivia Burge, Haleigh Fuller, Kaylan Evanich and Kiley Wallace are all underclassmen.
“The girls had a very good race. They ran very well against some very good competition,” said Fairland coach Chuck Wentz.
The Fairland boys’ team was seventh overall and will advance to the Division II regional meet.
“Bryce Day was fourth on the boys’ side and he ran a great race. The OVC had a very good showing.”
In Division III, the Rock Hill Redmen boys were second as a team and Brendon McCormick was second overall among the individuals.
The top eight boys Div. II teams and individuals in the top 32 advance to the regional meet.
The top seven boys’ teams and top 28 individuals along with the top six girls’ teams and top 24 individuals advance to the regional.
The regional meet is Saturday at Pickerington North High School. The boys Div. II is 11 a.m., the boys; Div. II is 11:45 a.m., the boys Div I is 12:30 p.m., the girls Div. II at 1:30, the girls Div. 11 is 2:15 and the girls Div. I is 3 p.m.
Admission is $7.
