God wants to be faithful’s ‘Everything’

Recently I was watching again for the whatever number time the “Everything” skit by Lifesong. What an amazing skit it is.
As I watched it I was reminded of my life how so many times, if it could be messed up, I messed it up. God who created us in His image to worship Him though he does not need us – we need Him.
But when we take things into our own doings we have a tendency to choose the wrong and not the right. We choose to hurt other folks yet we despise being hurt by anyone – we choose not to forgive folks but we are upset when others hold a grudge.
We make such lousy choices at times but can easily find fault with the choices that others make. All of this proves just how sinful we as human beings are. When I can see the wrong of everyone “but me” is a good indication that I am not seeing things as clearly as I should.
In the “Everything” skit a girl whom God created was allowed to be tempted by all of the things that are common to all people today and the greed – lust – drink – suicide and much more can win the battle maybe even for a while in a person’s life. But when one truly views their sin as God views sin it will sicken them and it will bring about repentance.
In the skit you will see the person who is representing Christ breaks into the midst of all of the turmoil and rolls up His sleeve and fights the battle for her.
He came to her in the midst of all of the sin and all of the conflict and held back the forces of sin away from her life.
Our debt has been cancelled and we are free from all of the things that could ever hold us in captivity. So no matter what you have been tempted with – or have fallen too we have a Savior who is coming to you in the midst of your “Everything” and is breaking through all of the junk that is stealing your life.
This day you have been called to follow. Jesus said, “Come unto me all you that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” Matt 11:28.
Stop trying to be good enough in your own way — place your trust on what He did for you. He will be your “Everything.”
