Contract approved for lift station
SOUTH POINT — The village of South Point has purchased a new fire truck, Mayor Jeff Gaskin said.
Gaskin said the truck cost $998,995 and was purchased from Sutphem, a company from Amlin.
He said the village was able to afford the truck, due to passage of an increased fire levy by voters in November 2024.
Gaskin said the village will make payments on the truck for $107,000 per year for 15 years. He said this was approved at one of the special meetings council had in January.
In another special meeting in January, Gaskin said a contract for a lift station for the new rehabilitation hospital being constructed in the village was awarded to Wilson Excavating.
