IRONTON — Residents on one block in Ironton should continue until tomorrow to boil their water before drinking it.

A cautionary boil-water advisory was issued for residents of Eighth Street from Washington to Adams Street because of a water main break that occurred around 4 a.m. Sunday, said Steve Collins, water plant operator for the City of Ironton.

“Anytime you shut the water off you have to put out an advisory,” Collins said.

The water will be tested and the advisory should be lifted Tuesday, he said.
