SOUTH POINT — A South Point Police officer was suspended for 15 days without pay following what Mayor Ron West describes as a misunderstanding about chairs belonging to the Village of South Point.
West said Sgt. Lenny Abrams was given instructions on what to do with the chairs and took further actions.
“He didn’t think he did anything wrong,” West said. “He donated chairs without permission. It was village property.”
West said this is the first time Abrams has done something without permission.
“It’s a misunderstanding on chairs,” West said.
West said Abrams turned in his resignation, but the mayor asked him to withdraw it.
Attempts to contact Abrams were unsuccessful.
