Man holds teens at knifepoint

The Ironton Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly held two teenagers at knifepoint and took their money.
The incident happened at 8:10 p.m. Monday in the alley behind Granny’s in Ironton. Chief Jim Carey said the teenagers, who are 13 and 14 years old, were approached by a man who allegedly grabbed them both, put a knife to their throat and demanded their money.
The man reportedly fled with an undetermined amount of money. The teenagers were not hurt.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Royce E. Thacker III. Thacker, 25, is 5-foot-nine with brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information regarding Thacker is asked to contact the Ironton Police Department or their local authorities.
The department has arrested an Ironton man for assault. Michael E. Schumann of 1215 So. Fifth St. in Ironton was arrested around 2 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of South Fifth Street.
Schumann allegedly assaulted another male. The victim was taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center with injuries that are not life threatening.
