A new building being constructed in the South Ironton Industrial Park should be completed this fall.
The building will be used for an industrial metal cutting company, said Bill Dickens, Economic Development Director for the City of Ironton.
The business is MWF Maintenance and Construction. Mike Moore is president of the company.
“They’re putting in some new technology to cut metal with,” Dickens said. “I think they’re using high pressure water.”
Dickens said the business will employ five or six people.
“Ironton has long been attractive to metal fabricating business so we feel that having the ability to cut and shape metal makes a nice fit for the industrial park,” Dickens said.
The building being constructed is 5,000 square feet and there is a possibility of putting another 5,000 square feet building in the industrial park for a similar business, Dickens said.
The current construction brings the total of buildings in the industrial park to three.
The Ohio Department of Transportation Garage and Aluminastics are in the other two buildings.
Moore was contacted but declined to talk about the business, saying instead that he wanted to maintain his privacy.
