Lady Pointers use team effort to rally by Lady Panthers

SOUTH POINT — It took the team. And thank goodness Saratina Jackson was part of the team.
Jackson led South Pointwith a monster game as she scored 26 points and hauled down 14 rebounds and the Lady Pointers beat the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 47-41 on Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
“It was a really good team effort,” said South Point coach Dave Adams.
Abbey Isaacs scored 18 points and Kate Ball had 15 points to pace the Lady Panthers (4-1, 2-1).
Ball hit a 3-pointer and scored 7 points and Isaacs was 3-of-4 at the line as Chesapeake took a 10-8 lead.
Jackson had 4 points for the Lady Pointers (3-3, 2-2).
Jackson hit a 3-pointer and scored 12 of the Lady Pointers’ 13 points in the second quarter as they trailed 24-21 at the half.
Isaacs hit a triple and had 5 points, Ball 4 points and Ciera Nichols hit a 3-pointer for Chesapeake in the quarter.
Jackson hit another pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 points as South Point tied the game at 37-all.
Isaacs hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 of Chesapeake’s 13 points in the quarter.
Samija Bradburn had 6 points in the fourth quarter as South Point outscored the Lady Panthers 10-4 to get the win.
Ball scored all of the Lady Panthers points in the quarter.
