It was a special night for the seniors. It turned into a winning night for the entire team.

The St. Joseph Female Flyers celebrated senior night with a 40-31win over the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans on Monday.

“The seniors did a nice job for us this year. They were very supportive in practice,” said Female Flyers’ coach Nick Miller.

“We played pretty good defense. We held them to just 12 points in the first half.”

Amber Neal and Hannah Miller scored 4 points each in the first quarter as St. Joseph took a 10-6 lead.

Miller got 5 more points in the second quarter and the lead was 22-12 at the break.

Katie Roach scored 5 points including a 3-pointer in the third quarter as the lead went to 34-21.

“Katie has come a long way for us this year,” said coach Miller.

St. Joseph led by as many as 15 in the fourth quarter before the seniors finished up.

Hannah Miller led St. Joseph with 15 points. Haley Bartram scored 8 points including a pair of 3-pointers while Sarah Neal and Amber Neal added 6 each.

Tiffany Craft had 10 for East (3-15).

St. Joseph plays at Harvest Christian on Saturday instead of Friday.
