The Ironton Tribune started publication on Aug. 1, 1928, when the Irontonian and the Ironton Register were merged into one publication. The Register was founded in 1850 and the Irontonian in 1874. The Ironton Tribune moved from Railroad St. in downtown Ironton to its location at 2903 S. Fifth St. in 1974. In 2021, The Ironton Tribune moved back to historic downtown Ironton to its current location, 211 Center St.
The Ironton Tribune, owned and operated by Ironton Publications, Inc. strives to be the number one source for news, sports and advertising in all of Lawrence County, Ohio, and the surrounding communities of Ashland, Ky., and Huntington, W.Va. The Ironton Tribune offers the best news, sports and marketing coverage in these areas. Its products reach more than 75 percent of households in a month. Additionally, a bi-monthly lifestyle magazine, Tri-State Living, showcases all the great people and places in the communities we serve throughout the region. The Ironton Tribune also produces and prints several niche products and special sections throughout the year.
Editions of The Ironton Tribune are published Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
