It’s nice to have friends.

While an under-the-weather Ashlee Runyon felt the affects of her recovery, her Green Lady Bobcat teammates picked up the slack in a 50-35 Southern Ohio Conference win Monday over the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans.

Lauren Jones scored a career-high 21 points and Adrianne Blankenship had a triple-double as Green improved to 7-4 overall and 6-2 in the SOC.

“Ashlee Runyon has been sick and she wasn’t a hundred percent, but the other girls picked it up for us,” said Green assistant coach Bucky Bridges coaching for head coach Dale Royse who was out of town on personal business.

Blankenship scored six points in the first quarter as Green took a 15-6 lead and she got four more in the second quarter and the lead was 25-18 at the half.

Jones scored 12 of her points in the second half as Green outscored East 25-17.

Blankenship finished with 15 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists. She also had three steals.

Abbey Barrett scored 10 points and had seven rebounds for Green.
