WASHINGTON (AP) — Prosecutors say Albert Haynesworth’s lawyer has repeatedly offered money to a waitress so she would help convince the government to drop her sexual abuse case against the defensive lineman.

Prosecutors said in a filing Thursday that on “numerous occasions” Haynesworth’s lawyer offered the waitress’ attorney money.

Haynesworth’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, denies he had offered the woman or her lawyer any money in relation to the case that is set for trial Tuesday.

Haynesworth is accused of sliding his credit card into the waitress’ bra and touching her breast while having drinks with friends at Washington’s W Hotel in February.

The former Washington Redskin now plays for the New England Patriots.
