“Our rebounding was the difference. We were able to get a lot of second shots on offense and limit them to one shot on offense,” said St. Joseph coach B.J. Hannon.

Staton got nine points in the first quarter as St. Joseph raced to a 12-2 lead.

The lead grew to 27-7 at the break as Hacker scored six points in the second quarter.

Andrea VanMeter scored five of OVC’s first half points.

Hacker scored six more points in the third quarter as the Female Flyers extended the lead to 40-13.

Hannon emptied his bench in the fourth quarter.

Jasmine Owens scored all six of her points in the fourth quarter for the Defenders

The game was the final home contest for seniors Katie Schwab, Kacie Rucker and Ivanna Setnicka.

“They’re quality young women. They’ll be missed,” said Hannon.
