IRONTON — Twelve people arrested in a raid in Ironton Tuesday and two men accused of getting a Fed-exed marijuana shipment this week were all arraigned Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court.

Judge O. Clark Collins set a $2,500 bond for Brett Howell, 28, of 608 N. Eighth St., who was charged with a misdemeanor.

He then set bond at $50,000 for Christopher Adkins, 23, James Fugate, 48, Loretta Thompson, 50, and Stacy Thompson, 32, all of 2430 S. Eighth St., Alan L. Combs, 29, Shirley J. Combs, 41, Ronald F. McSorley, all of 719 Vine St., Paul D. Lewis, 27, and Emily A. Gipson, 24, both of 2523 S. Third St., and Danial Cox, 23, of 2308 S. Ninth St. Bond for Cox’s wife, Dana Cox, 25, was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 property.

Dana Cox was the only one of this group to hire her own attorney, Chris Delawder.

The rest of the 12 were appointed attorneys and given a March 26 preliminary hearing.

Also Thursday, Thurman Harshbarger III, 31, of 64 Township Road 181, Ironton, and Charles Newcomb, 38, of 551 County Road 21, Ironton, were arraigned on charges stemming from the alleged shipment of 11 pounds of marijuana from Texas to Ohio via Federal Express.

The shipment was intercepted by police after the two men allegedly picked up the package from outside an Ironton residence.

All of these people were still lodged in the Lawrence County Jail as of 2 p.m. Thursday.
