FHS choirs to offer special concert
ROME TOWNSHIP — Fairland High School choirs will present their year-end concert Thursday at the high school gym.
Featured will be the Men’s Choir, Women’s Choir and Varsity Vocals.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
Chesy to raise funds for 5-year-old child
CHESAPEAKE — Chesapeake Middle School will sponsor a special Walk-n-Roll a Thon fund-raiser to help the family of Jacob Thacker, the grandson of Penny Thacker, a sixth grader teacher at the school.
The 5-year-old is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at the middle school and high school grounds. It is open to walkers, biker, scooters and the like.

Curbside pickup deadline set
BURLINGTON — As part of the county-wide cleanup, Fayette Township will offer curbside pickup for elderly and disabled residents on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.
However, that must be pre-arranged before Monday, April 27.
The cleanup is open to all residents of the township. Dumpsters will be located at the Burlington Fire Station, County Road 1.
Dumping will be closed each day at 5 p.m. or when dumpsters are full. All items must be placed inside the dumpsters.
Volunteers are needed and are asked to meet at 8:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Lunch will be provided for the volunteers. Proof of Fayette Township residency will be required.
Burlington group plans annual sale
BURLINGTON — Concerned Citizens of Burlington will have a rummage sale Friday, May 1 and Saturday May 2, at the Burlington Fire Station from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.
The rummage sale is part of the two-day cleanup Fayette Township is conducting.
Only clean clothing and items in good condition will be accepted. Items will be accepted at the fire station through Thursday.
