Law enforcement should protect area’s elderly

To all the elderly people of Lawrence County, I hope you don’t have to report anybody for stealing anything from you.

The police or prosecutor won’t do anything.

I had my wallet stolen in Ohio and they used my ATM card in Huntington, W.Va., and kept my money and bankcard. I brought charges against the person in West Virginia and Ohio.

The sheriff’s office turned it over to the prosecutor and they won’t arrest them. I see in the paper where they arrest people for stealing from the elderly.

I guess I can rob a bank or kill someone and get by saying I didn’t do it.

What protection of law enforcement is this that they won’t help the elderly get judgment? They won’t even return calls.

I have lived here since 1996 and I live on the county side. I can’t get the engineer to do anything to stop water from flooding my property.

Water is ruining my house. It has stagnant water around the house. I am always referred to the trustees. I wish they would have to live with this. They would probably take care of it.

It depreciates the value of the property and makes it unhealthy to live here.
