Ro-Na Theatre poker run set

IRONTON — The 2nd Annual Soar with the Eagles 895 Poker Run will be this Saturday, at the Ironton Eagles, 1305 S. Third St.

Registration will be from 10 a.m. until noon, with the ride beginning at 12:30 p.m.

This year’s fundraiser is for the Ro-Na Theatre restoration project.

Cost for the event is $15 for riders and $10 for passengers. Rider and passenger get poker hand.

Wine event slated for Saturday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Local wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in an evening of wine education and entertainment conducted by America’s First Master Sommelier, Eddie Osterland on Saturday.

Presented by Creative Kitchens and entitled “Wine & Power Entertaining,” this evening will pair wine, food and company with tips for demystifying wine and entertaining at the highest level.

Taking place at Creative Kitchens located at 1242 Fifth Ave. in Huntington, the event begins at 6 p.m. and tickets cost $50 per person.

Proceeds from this event benefit Huntington, W.Va. Area Habitat for Humanity.

Wayne National Forest offers free trail use weekend

NELSONVILLE — In observance of National Trails Day on Saturday, June 4, the Wayne National Forest in southeastern Ohio invites the public to a free use weekend (June 3, 4, and 5) on its designated trail system.

No Wayne National Forest trail permits are required to ride off-highway vehicle (OHV), horse, and mountain bike trails on that weekend. Developed fee campgrounds and day-use sites are not included in this free use offer.

Motorized trail riders are still required to purchase their state all-purpose vehicle (APV) registration sticker from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV).

The Wayne National Forest offers the public several trail opportunities. The Forest has approximately 79 miles of horse trails, 134 miles of all-terrain vehicle trails, 209 miles of mountain bike trails, and 360 miles of hiking trails.

The fee waiver weekend is being offered nationally in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service and other agencies under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (REA).
