Public meeting on Chesapeake Bypass blasting to be held Tuesday

CHESAPEAKE/PROCTORVILLE – Rock blasting begins next month on Chesapeake Bypass project and the Ohio Department of Transportation will have a public meeting about it on Tuesday.
The Chesapeake Bypass Phase 2 Project began in April and is expected to be completed at the end of 2028. The project consists of six miles of new roadway between Chesapeake and Proctorville.
Rock blasting is expected to begin this May and will occur intermittently for the life of the project.
A public meeting regarding the blasting operations will be 5-6 p.m. Tuesday at Fairland High School in the Gymnasium, 812 County Road 411, Proctorville.
