Pointers equal effort too much for Green

SOUTH POINT — This was a DEI game for the South Point Pointers. They applied equal performance by the offense and defense.
The Pointers played well on both ends of the floor and had 8 different players score in a 59-32 rout of the Green Bobcats on Wednesday.
South Point jumped out in front 17-9 in the first quarter as Brayden Hanshaw scored 7 points and Ethan Hunt 5. Hanshaw, Hunt and Kolton Spurlock all hit 3-pointers for the Pointers.
Jon Knapp and Brody Stapleton had 3-pointers for Green.
The Pointers took charge at both ends of the court in the second quarter by outscoring Green 19-2 and the lead was 36-11 at the half.
Hunt drilled a pair of 3-pointers and scored 8 points, Caesyn Pope hit a trey and four other players had a basket.
The Pointers moved in front 49-22 in the third quarter as Ethan Layne got 4 points and five other players scored.
Hanshaw scored 4 points as each team scored 10 points in the fourth quarter.
Hunt scored 15 points and Hanshaw 14 to lead the Pointers (7-9).
Landon Kimbler scored 10 points to pace Green (8-9).
