Flyers go cold in loss to Oaks

The St. Joseph Flyers came out of the locker room for the second half, but their offense decided to wait a while longer.
The Flyers suffered a cold-shooting third quarter that proved decisive in a 54-42 loss to the Oak Hill Oaks on Tuesday.
The Flyers took an early 12-11 lead in the first quarter as Eli Whaley and Beckham Waginger each hit 3-pointers.
Ethan O’Connor scored 5 points including a 3-pointer while Will Morgan and Joseph Anteby had 3 points each.
The Oaks (8-4) then rallied and took a 30-25 halftime lead as O’Connor hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 8 points, Morgan had 5 points and Andy Meldick added 4.
Wesley Neal had 6 points and Whaley drained another trifecta for the Flyers (5-3).
The Flyers went cold and only managed three baskets in the third quarter as they fell behind 42-31.
Anteby scored 6 points and O’Connor hit a trey and scored 4 points for the Oaks as they outscored the Flyers 12-6.
Four different players scored for the Oaks in the fourth quarter as they edged out the Flyers 12-11.
Neal scored 6 points and Aiden Deborde hit a 3-pointer for the Flyers in the quarter.
Neal led the Flyers with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Whaley added 8 points while Landon Rowe had 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
O’Connoer had 17 points and Morgan 12 for the Oaks.
