SOUTH POINT — Something was a-foul in this game.

A total of 42 fouls were called and 55 free throws attempted as the South Point Lady Pointers edged the Ironton Fighting Tigers 51-49 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Tuesday.

“It was a really hard-fought game. We stuck together and came back to win,” said Lady Pointers’ coach Dave Adams.

Ironton took an 11-9 first quarter lead as Lola Hankins nailed a pair of 3-pointers, Emerson White scored 3 points and Lexi McCall a basket.

Saratina Jackson hit a 3-pointer and scored 4 p lints while Leila Hall and Samiya Bradburn each hitting a basket.

South Point got within 21-20 at the half as Jackson scored 5 points, Bradburn 4 and Hall had a basket.

Hankins had another 3-pointer and scored 5 points whit White knocking down a trifecta and Jolee Hankins a basket.

The Lady Fighting Tigers took a 33-31 lead at the end of the third quarter as White drained a pair of shots from behind the arc, Hankins dropped in another trey and McCall scored inside.

Jackson scored 8 points for South Point in the quarter.

But in the fourth quarter, South Point connected on 9-of-19 free throws while Ironton was 8-of-14 with Lola Hankins making 7-of-8 as she scored 9 points.

Molly Adams scored all 6 of her points including 2-of-3 at the line, Bradburn was 4-of-6 from the line, Jackson 2-of-4 and Jasmyn Jones sank 1-of-2 foul shots.

South Point finished 19-of-35 from the line and Ironton 10-of-20.

Jackson scored 19 points to lead the Lady Pointers (4-3, 3-2) with Bradburn scored 12.

Lola Hankins scored a game-high 23 points for Ironton (2-3, 1-3) with White netting 14.
