David Fleming

June 26, 1946–Sept. 30, 2024

Our loving father, grandpa and devoted friend David Keith Fleming, 78, of Kitts Hill – having believed the words of Romans 10:13, For WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED – went to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 26, 1946 in Ironton, to William and Thelma Fleming.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving family: David Fleming (Brie), of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tim Fleming, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tammy Monier, of Coal Grove, Bill Fleming (Cindy), of Kitts Hill, Brittani Withers (Matt) of Bridgman, Michigan; and sister, Donna “Kay” Walbridge, of Coal Grove.

He graduated from Dawson-Bryant schools.

He served 30 years as an employee of AEP, retiring as a Station Electrician A.

David enjoyed mowing lawns in retirement.

David was a faithful member and gave generously to Myrtle Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma Fleming; sister, Betty Harper; brother, William Bill “Dick” Fleming; and Sean Fleming, of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

His life was filled with love and joy from his 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to express appreciation to Mark Roach, best friends, David Massie and Clint Neal, for their continued friendship and support to their dad during his illness.

The family will welcome visitors 11 a.m.–noon Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton. A celebration of life service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to enhance the WV Baptist Camp at Cowen Sunny Day Project. Online donations can be made at https://tithe.ly/give_new/www/#/tithely/give-one-time/755430 by selecting Sunny Day.
