ATLANTA, Ga. – Marshall senior center Logan Osburn was nominated to the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List on Thursday, the Wuerffel Foundation announced.
Osburn was one of 111 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) student-athletes nominated for the award, which is considered college football’s premier award for community service.
“I am deeply honored to see such outstanding individuals nominated for this year’s Allstate Wuerffel Trophy,” said Danny Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy winner and the award’s namesakes. “Their commitment to serving others and making a positive impact in their communities is truly inspiring. Throughout my life and career, I have always believed in the importance of putting others before yourself and striving to make a difference. These nominees exemplify those values, and I am proud to celebrate their dedication to humanitarian efforts and selfless service.”
Osburn, a 2024 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team selection and 2023 Campbell Trophy nominee, is on the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List for the second consecutive year.
Recently, Osburn was also named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team Watch List, which is also an honor given to those who show exemplary success on the field and in community service.
This year, Allstate is the presenting sponsor of the Wuerffel Trophy, which has now teamed up with the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team to unify college football’s highest community service honors.
Eleven of the Watch List nominees for the Wuerffel Trophy will be named to the final Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. Those individuals will also be semifinalists for the Wuerffel Trophy.
From there, the trophy’s selection committee will select finalists and, later, a recipient who will be honored at the 2024 Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 12.
