Diana Lewis

April 25, 1963–June, 13, 2024

 

Diana (Diane) Lynn Derifield Lewis, 61, of Ironton, passed away peacefully at her residence on June, 13, 2024.

She was born in Lawrence County, on April 25, 1963, the daughter of Georgianna Rockwell and the late David Derifield, both from Lawrence County.

Diane was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, before beginning her career with Cabletron Systems, Inc. Aterwards, she completed post-secondary training to work in the medical field, later retiring from Bellefonte Hospital Wound Care Center.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Tom Rockwell, of Ironton; and her stepmother, Janet Derifield, of Ironton. Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Georgianna Rockwell, of Parkman; a brother, Mike (Cyndi) Derifield, of Parkman; a son, Jason Owens, from Ironton; a daughter, Allison (Chris) Ingles, from Coal Grove; two grandchildren, Kennedi Owens, from Ironton, and Kelsey Malone, from Ashland, Kentucky; a niece, Mika Derifield, from Medina; and her close friend, Kathy Wissman, of Ironton, along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

Diane was a born-again Christian and member of First Baptist Church Russell.

She loved all her church friends and enjoyed spreading God’s message.

Traveling to new places, studying the Bible, spending time with friends and family and caring for her pets, especially her two dogs, Hadley and Honey, gave her great joy.

She had a special place for her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her soul.

Diane will always be remembered as a loving and compassionate person, especially by her son, daughter and grandchildren.

There is comfort in knowing she is with her Heavenly Father. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8

O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service is currently pending.
