Jo Rowe

June 8, 1944–May 9, 2024

 

2024. Jo Kennedy Rowe, 79, of Ironton, went to be with Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

She was born on June 8, 1944, in Ironton, to the late Willard (Red) and Marie Hunt Kennedy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Kennedy Tufts (Donald “Sonny”). She graduated from Ironton High School in 1964.

Jo married Jerry Rowe on Sept. 4, 1965 and built a wonderful life.

Jo took pride in her family and loved spending time with them.

She was a great cook and always put others first.

She babysat children for many years, and they always had a special place in her heart.

She also worked at Central Christian Day Care Center. Jo was a member of Bridges Christian Church and the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class.

She was a devoted Christian and enjoyed living her life for the Lord.

Besides her husband, Jo is survived by her children, Tammy Rowe Stephens (Clark), of Cincinnati, Jerry Rowe II (Renee), of Ironton and Kara Rowe, of Cincinnati, and sister, Sharon Kennedy Harrison (Tim), of Waynesboro, Virginia.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Aaron Stephens, of Cincinnati, Lexi Stephens, of Cincinnati, Brooke Heffner (Caleb), of Ironton, Alyssia Williams (Kyle), of Ironton, and Brady Rowe of Ironton. She had two great grandchildren, Millie Drew Heffner, and Belle Renee Heffner. Jo also had numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bridges Christian Church, 1402 Kenwood Drive, Russell, Kentucky. Services will be conducted by Kevin Fraley and Tom Lawson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bridges Christian Church or through the online website.
