What letdown?

After a big conference win over Fairland on Monday, the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers were in a possible emotional letdown game on Tuesday.

But Braylin Wallace pitched a 3-hit shutout and Ironton knocked out 12 hits en route to a 14-0 run rule win over the Gallipolis Blue Angels in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Wallace struck out 11 and did not walk a batter

Ironton (15-4, 10-1) took a 4-0 lead in the first inning.

Graycie Brammer led off with a hit and courtesy runner Aubrey Shavers stole second. Khamil Martin and Aubrey Ferguson drew walks and Katelyn Moore had a 2-run single.

Wallace singled to score Ferguson and Bella Sorbilli reached on an error as a run scored.

The Lady Fighting Tigers got 2 more runs in the second inning.

Brammer doubled and Martin singled courtesy runner Shavers to third. Ferguson grounded out as Shavers scored and Kenley Neal followed with an RBI single.

Ironton continued to put runs on the scoreboard in the third inning.

With one out, Sorbilli walked and Emily Weber had an RBI triple.

Brammer and Martin walked and Ferguson singled to drive home 2 runs. Martin and Ferguson then pulled off not one, but 2 double steals for a run and it was 10-0.

The Lady Fighting Tigers finished off the scoring with 4 more runs in the fourth inning.

Layla Townsend led off with a double, Wallace singled, Shavers was hit by a pitch, and, after a fielder’s choice, Olivia Wilson and Jenna Compliment walked to set up Ferguson who had a 2-run double.

Ferguson was 2-3 with a double and 5 RBI, Brammer 2-2 with a double, Martin 2-2, Wallace 2-3 with an RBI, Weber 1-2 with a triple and RBI, Moore 1-2 with 2 RBI, Neal 1-2 with an RBI and Townsend 1-1 with a double.
