PROCTORVILLE — Maybe Fairland needs a horseshoe on its dragon.
Lady Luck has abandoned the Dragons this season as they lost another tough game on Tuesday when the Wayne Pioneers got a 2-1 win.
Fairland (1-8) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning when Keegan Smith walked, stole second and scored on a hit by Alex Morgan.
Wayne (7-9) tied the game in the top of the fourth on a single by Brady Dyer and a double by Fisher Fry.
The Pioneers got the winning run in the sixth when Austin Porter led off with a base hit, stole second and scored on a 2-out single by Parker Adkins.
By getting the game-winning hit, Adkins gave himself the pitching win as he went the distance allowing 5 hits, striking out 5 and walking one.
Blaze Perry was the hard-luck loser as he pitched a complete game allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs while striking out 8 and walking 2.
Ben Southard was 2-3 for Fairland with Morgan 1-4 and an RBI and Garrett Cornwell and Kaden Wiseman each 1-3.
