Lady Raiders rallies by Lady Hornets, 44-39

COAL GROVE — The Coal Grove Lady Hornets had upset in their sights, but then the River Valley Lady Raiders threw up the blinders.
Coal Grove Took a halftime lead only to have River Valley rally in the second half for a 44-39 win on Monday.
Kendall Taylor scored 6 points and Alivia Noel had 4 as Coal Grove took a 10-5 first quarter lead.
Kallie Burger went 3-of-4 from the foul line for the Lady Raiders.
The Lady Hornets (4-8) extended their lead to 20-11 at the half as Noel had 5 more points and Kinsey Keeney added 3 points.
Hayley Edwards had 4 of River Valley’s points.
But the game took a huge turn in the third quarter as River Valley (11-3) outscored the Lady Hornets 18-6 to take a 29-26 lead.
Edwards scored 11 points in the quarter including a 3-pointer.
Taylor had 4 points and Jenna Anson got a basket to account for all of Coal Grove’s total.
Carlee Manley scored 10 points including 2-of-2 from the line and Edwards hit another 3-pointer and scored 5 points as River Valley outscored Coal Grove 15-13 in the fourth quarter.
Noel scored 11 points before fouling out.
Noel finished with 20 points and Taylor scored 10 to pace Coal Grove.
Edwards scored a game-high 22 points and Manley 12 for River Valley.
