Symmes Valley High School to host Festival of Trees on Saturday

Will coincide with Breakfast with Santa

AID — When Symmes Valley High School hosts its annual Breakfast with Santa this weekend, there will be a new addition to the day’s events, which organizers hope will be the start of a new yearly tradition.

Clubs at the school have organized a Festival of Trees, which will take place from noon-6 p.m. in the high school’s library, Jhonda Carpenter, a teacher a the school, said.

Trees, sponsored by area businesses,  have been decorated by the clubs and will be sold as a fundraiser for their activities.

In addition, the public will be able to vote on the best trees on display.

The event will take place the same day as the Breakfast with Santa, which is set for 9 a.m.-noon and is organized by the school’s Band Boosters.

Tickets for the breakfast are $10 and will include pancakes, sausage and a drink.

Proceeds from that event will go toward the band.

In addition, tables will be set up for vendors, there will be a silent auction and ice skating rink and photo opportunities.
