PROCTORVILLE — Nancy Ann Kennedy Jeter, 62 of Proctorville, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011.  She was born June 1, 1948 in Iaeger, W.Va.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Kennedy and Edna (Bostic) Kennedy of Iaeger, W.Va.  She is survived by her beloved husband Robert (Rusty) Jeter of 41 years; daughter Marla (Shane) Tolliver of Ona, W.Va.; son Robert Michael (Amy) Jeter of New Boston, Mich., grandson Jonathan Jeter of Marietta, Ga., sister Loraine (Charles) Schultz of Iaeger; nephew Allan (Hope) Schultz of Roanoke, Va.; niece Deana (Dee) (Michael) Picklesimer of Iaeger, mother-in-law Dot Jeter of Barboursville, W.Va.; brother-in-law Barry (Kriss) Jeter of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Jane (Mark) Bailey of Huntington, W.Va.; Julie (Frank) Jeter of Bradley, W.Va.; and Jon (Amy) Jeter of Findlay; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a graduate of Iaeger High School in 1966, and Marshall University in 1973 with a B.S. degree in medical technology.

She was a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and an alumnus of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.  She retired from St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, in 2009 where she continued to work part-time because she enjoyed being with her co-workers and to support her photography passion.  She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Proctorville. Nancy loved to travel in their motor home with hubby and best friend Rusty.

Her other hobbies included cooking, gardening and photography.  She won several photography awards and was a member of the Tri-State Arts Association and the Huntington Photography Club.  Nancy enjoyed spending time with photography friends Darla and Angie, talking late hours on the phone with Bobby Jo and sister Loraine.  She loved her family dearly and always looked forward to cooking annual Thanksgiving dinners.

With her quiet, unassuming demeanor, she always made herself available to help Michael, Amy, Marla, Rusty and many others through their daily challenges.  She dearly loved her grandson, Jonathan, and was always looked forward to his Proctorville visits.  The “apple of her eye” was Marla, constantly seeking ways to spend quality time shopping or just listening.

Nancy’s life was truly a gift from God that touched many; she will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope United Methodist Church, Proctorville.  Burial will follow in Rome-Proctorville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 6 to 9 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home.  Flowers will be accepted or gifts may be made in Nancy’s memory to New Hope United Methodist Church, PO Box 405, Proctorville, OH  45669.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
