The Ohio State Division of Fire Marshal is requesting that a 16-year-old be charged for an incident at Spare Time Bowling and Skating this past Friday.
The juvenile allegedly detonated a pressure bomb, also known as a MacGyver or bottle bomb, around 9 p.m. that night at the bowling alley.
“Though the bomb, which detonated under a pool table, did minimal damage, investigators say the device could have caused serious injury to patrons and employees,” a release from the SFM states. “It also could have led to a serious fire.”
A second device was found at the location, but it did not detonate.
The case is being reviewed by the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.
