Sentencing has been scheduled for a man who was convicted Friday afternoon of assaulting a woman.
After a trial in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court, a jury found 39-year-old Flint Topping of 23 N. Fifth St., Ironton, guilty of both felonious assault and kidnapping.
He faces a maximum of 10 years for the kidnapping and eight years for felonious assault.
The charges stem from a December 2010 incident during which Topping beat a woman and pulled the hair from her head, Lawrence County Assistant Prosecutor Bob Anderson said.
The trial, which started Thursday in Judge Charles Cooper’s courtroom, lasted two days. Cooper scheduled sentencing in the case for Wednesday.
