ASHLAND, Ky. — In an effort to attract riders from the Huntington area, Ashland Cycling Enthusiasts (ACE) will hold its Monday meeting at Marshall Hall of Fame, 857 Third Avenue, Huntington, at 6:30 pm. The meeting will begin with a meal, which is optional.
“We know there’s a large group of bicyclist in the Huntington area,” said Dianna Ross, club president. “ACE would like to extend an invitation to those riders to join us as we review our spring ride schedule. There are also several upcoming regional cycling tours we’ll discuss at the meeting. By becoming an active part of the club, a rider has the opportunity to join with an enthusiastic group as they see our area from a fresh perspective.”
In addition to organizing weekly group rides, the club monitors subjects that affect cyclists, including road safety, the Rails to Trails program, and legislative issues. During the coldest winter months, the club offers hiking opportunities, taking advantage of the Tri-state’s wilderness areas and state parks.
“The members of the club enjoy many outdoor activities – cycling, hiking, camping, kayaking, hunting, fishing. If you enjoy an outdoor activity, there’s probably a club member that shares your interest,” Ross said.
