Rock Hill couldn’t get the shots to fall late and the Green Bobcats came away with a 59-50 win over the Redmen on Tuesday.

“We didn’t shoot as well as we have been shooting. They missed some free throws late and we couldn’t convert,” said Rock Hill coach Bob Wilds. “But we let (Green) get to the basket to many times.”

Green (14-5) was led by T.J. McCloud with 19 points — 17 in the first half — and five rebounds. Pat Pierce scored 13 points while Cody Bruce had 12 points and three steals. Tyler Hughes finished with eight points, eight rebounds, eight assists and two steals.

Andy Knipp scored 15 points and Mitchell Patterson 13 to lead the Redmen (7-12). Devin Darby had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Will McCollister grabbed seven rebounds while Trey Wilds had five assists and Shane Russell four.

McCloud had 11 points in the first quarter as Green went up 18-14. Patterson scored seven for the Redmen. Knipp and Darby combined for 13 points in the second quarter as Rock Hill trailed 35-30 at the half.

Pierce scored five points in the third quarter to help offset four points each by McCollister and Knipp and the lead was 47-41.

Green made eight free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
