Cheryl Williams
Aug. 20, 1948–July 4, 2020
Cheryl J. Williams, 71, of Shoals, West Virginia, met her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 4, 2020.
She was born Aug. 20, 1948, the daughter of the late Bill and Paulena Williams.
She was a native of Willow Wood and grew up on Greasy Ridge.
Ms. Williams was a 1965 graduate of Symmes Valley High School. She was active in 4-H, band, and served as head majorette.
Upon graduating from the Huntington Junior College of Business, she was employed by Ashland Oil and later retired from banking and the Social Security Administration. She also obtained a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in 1995.
Ms. Williams enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing and flower gardening, but most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a gift and passion as a caretaker for those in need.
She is survived by two daughters and four grandchildren, Angela (Roger) Wireman, of Proctorville, and Tracy (Travis) Arnold, of Willow Wood, Garrett Wireman and Raine Wireman, both of Proctorville, and Corey Miller and MacKenzie Shepard, both of Willow Wood. She is also survived by one brother, Keith (Ruth) Williams, of Ironton; one sister, Donna (Jack) Nelson, of South Point; one aunt, Gail Ash, of Willow Wood; two granddaughters by heart, Liberty Ward and Rosie Harris; and many loving cousins, neighbors, and church family.
In an effort to advance science, Ms. Williams wishes were to be donated for medical research and was accepted by WVU Medical School in Morgantown, West Virginia.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at her beloved church, Truth Independent Baptist Church in Lavalette, West Virginia, on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Lou Ashworth officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made for cancer research at cancer.osu.edu.
Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ola Roop
Ola Mae Roop passed away at Plaza West Health Center in Sun City, Florida, on March 26, 2020.
Ola was a Christian and is now in the loving arms of God.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Ray Spears.
Ola left behind a loving husband of 65 year, Ronald Roop; two sisters, Marie Scott, of Ironton, and Alice Ferguson, of St. Albans, West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Nancy Spears, of Coal Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
After retiring from Verizon, Ola and her husband moved from Ohio to Sun City, Florida, in 1995.
A memorial service will be at Campbell Church in Ironton at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15.
Donald Boggs
Donald Lee Boggs, 74, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday July 7, 2020, at home.
There will be no services.
Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.
Carol Legg
Carol Legg, of Tennessee, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Paul Cain Jr.
Paul Richard Cain Jr., 72, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of South Point, died Saturday, June 27, 2020, in Lakeland Regional Hospital, Lakeland, Florida.
Visitation is noon– 1 p.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. A memorial service will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, with Pastor Scott Mann officiating.

Ronald Bartrum
Ronald Edward Bartrum, 64, of Coal Grove, died Monday, July 6, 2020, at his home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Main Street Freewill Baptist Church, Coal Grove, with Pastors Dale Henson, Ryan Rogers, Donald Spurlock and Ronnie Massie officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Visitation will be 10–11 a.m. Saturday.
