Village plans follow-up event on July 25

SOUTH POINT — A food truck rally that took place over the weekend in South Point went “phenomenally well,” Mayor Jeff Gaskin said.

“Every vendor ran out,” he said of the demand of the 10 vendors who sat up for the seven-hour event. “One resupplied and ran out again.”

He said that Abby Shae Bakes resupplied their truck twice to meet the demand.

The socially-distanced event was free to the public and took place at the village’s boat dock at Veterans Park on the corner of Ferry and Second streets.

Water and electric were set up by the village for the trucks, which included vendors from across the Tri-State, including Scootin’ Noodles, Southside Sliders, Truckin’ Cheesy, Gourmet Griddle and C-N-C Concessions.

“Every vendor was happy with how it turned out,” Gaskin said, stating that all 10 would be back, along with two more trucks, for a follow-up rally on July 25.

That event will take place at the same location and will run from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Gaskin said.
