RHMS cheerleaders capture Jamfest national championship

PEDRO — The Rock Hill Middle School cheerleaders were jamming at the Jamfest.
The Rock Hill team of Brooklynn Kingrey, Lily McGinnis, Morgan Harper, Shelby Dalton, Taylor Maines, Kassidi Cox, Caitlynd McKnight and Kenna Sites won first place in the intermediate junior high Non-Mount Division of the Jamfest National Competition held in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
The team was also named the overall Sportmanship Award winners.
As the winning team, the girls earned a trophy, national championship banner, individual sportsmanship awards, medals and national champion jackets.
The team participated in the Fantasy of Light Gatlinburg Parade during the competition trip.
The girls team has been part of other competitions including Spirit Jam in Columbus and Cheer Thrill in Dayton where they placed first in both events.
Coaches for the girls’ team are Ginger Dalton, Kayla Maynard and Betsy Cox.
