Reviving a lost artform

In the digital era, we’re told that we’re more connected than ever.
But in the onslaught of text messages, Facebook posts and emails, sometimes a personal touch is lost in the haphazardness.
This week has been declared as National Letter Writing Week. Its organizers hope to encourage everyone to send a handwritten letter to someone they know.
There’s something special about getting a physical letter in the mail and the doldrums of January would be the perfect time to send one.
Whether it’s a belated thank you for Christmas gifts, reaching out to a relative who lives in another state, or just putting more thought into communication with someone close, try to take the time to compose your thoughts and craft a message from the heart.
It’s something of a lost art to put one’s thoughts to words, but it will make a difference and be a positive for the both the sender and the recipient.
Why not give it a try?
