Items sought by Mission for needy at Christmas
Published 8:25 am Friday, December 6, 2019
The Mission would like to say thank you to all those who helped us in any way with our annual Thanksgiving Day dinner. We served a total of 673 meals and, had it not been for many friends, it would not have been possible.
Now that December is here, we are getting ready for our annual Christmas baskets and toy giveaway.
For 75 years, the Mission has been “The Door of Hope to the Unfortunate” and especially during this holy time of year.
We have already closed out or registration and, this year again, we have over 400 families receiving food baskets and over 600 children receiving new toys from us.
It does take a lot of labor, food, toys and money to provide these items to those who are less fortunate here in Lawrence County.
Once again, we are asking our friends who would like to help with the items needed to please do so.
Canned food and new toys can be dropped off at the Mission, located at 710 N. Fifth St., Ironton, OH 45638, from the hours of 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. If you need to bring items in the evening, feel free to call the Mission at 740-532-5041 to make sure we are there. Many evenings this month, we are we are working and can receive the donation. If you wish to send a check or money order, you may do so at the address above.
On behalf of the Mission, I want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas.
