Greetings to you!

My name is Joshua Cook and I am writing to ask voters in the great county of Lawrence County to vote FOR for the DD Levy on the upcoming ballot.

I travel the state and advocate for individuals and families with developmental disabilities and Lawrence County is a frequent and favorite stop of mine.

The levy that is on the ballot is critically important for the county board of developmental disabilities, to the families in Lawrence County who have and are awaiting services and support, and to the individuals that we love with a developmental disability.

The current levy is far outdated and is no longer sufficient for providing the supports that are needed for these individuals to live happy, healthy and safe in the community.

A YES vote to the DD levy will allow the county board of DD to improve the opportunities to these individuals through services and support and community inclusion programs.

An important thing to keep in mind is that individuals with DD in Lawrence County are HUGE contributors to the community.

They work in the community, live in our neighborhoods, help out at community events and so much more.

In our field, we fight for community inclusion because we believe that individuals with developmental disabilities have far more to offer us than we could ever provide for them.

These are my friends that have come to feel like family, and they need and deserve a vote FOR the DD levy on the upcoming ballot!
