Today offers two opportunities for people to learn much about Lawrence County.

This morning, at the Lawrence County fairgrounds, the Lawrence County Farm Bureau will host its second annual Bringing the Farm to You event, featuring several local farms from around the region.

Those set up will be selling products produced and showing demonstrations of their craft. In addition, there will be a substantial children’s area and activities, teaching younger attendees about where their food comes from and all that goes into raising it.

Later in the day, at Woodland Cemetery, the Lawrence County Museum will put on the annual historic cemetery walk.

About 20 volunteers from around the community will be on hand, portraying notable figures buried there. In costume, they will share the stories of the lives of those names, showcasing the history of Lawrence County and those tied to it.

Both of these events will be family friendly and an excellent learning experience.

They are a valuable asset to the county and a popular draw for visitors.
