Man sentenced to three years for domestic violence

An Ironton man who held his girlfriend against her will for two days was sentenced Wednesday for felony domestic violence.
Homer W. Anson Jr., 22, of 44 County Road 128, Ironton, pleaded guilty in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to third-degree domestic violence. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped a kidnapping charge that he previously faced.
Judge Charles Cooper sentenced Anson to three years in prison.
In other cases:
James C. Elkins, 19, of 15364 State Route 243, Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to two counts of fifth-degree theft, fifth-degree forgery, and misuse of a credit card.
Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced Elkins to four years of community-controlled sanctions and ordered him to successfully complete the STAR community justice program. Elkins will also have to pay $7,000 in restitution to the victim.
Walter G. Plumley, 33, of 26 Private Drive 385, Chesapeake, admitted violating the terms of his community-controlled sanctions by failing to report to adult probation and failing to make restitution payments. Bowling sentenced Plumley to 30 days in the Lawrence County Jail.
Brian Webb, 31, of 90 Private Drive 1005 Township Road 204, Willow Wood, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault on a peace officer.
Bowling sentenced Webb to four years of community-controlled sanctions and ordered him to successfully complete the STAR community justice program.
James C. Bayes, 26, of 1365 County Road 1 Apt. 14, South Point, admitted violating the terms of his community-controlled sanctions. Cooper sentenced Bayes to six months in prison.
Jason Broughton, 34, of 2732 S. Sixth St., Ironton, admitted a CCS violation. Cooper sentenced him to seven months in prison with credit for time served.
James C. Thompson, 33, of 204 Rockwood Ave., Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to gross sexual imposition.
Cooper scheduled Thompson’s sentencing for next week. Thompson’s victim is a 9-year-old girl.
Laura D. Fisher, 22, of 1062 County Road 128, Ironton, admitted a CCS violation. Cooper sentenced her to successfully complete the STAR community justice program.
Sharrissa M. Snyder, 26, of 2625 S. Fourth St., Ironton, pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs and illegal possession of paraphernalia. Cooper set bond at $50,000 and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 26.
