Coal Grove water clear

On Tuesday, the Village of Coal Grove announced that it was safe to drink the water again after a day of day-glow pink water coming out of the taps.
The village website said the water plant operator had taken samples of water at various locations throughout the system and the “samples were then tested in a lab and have been found to come back below the health risk from the EPA.”
The village advised that there may be pockets of the pink water that appear in some locations.
“If your residence has pink tinted water, please allow your taps to run to continue flushing your lines. Please avoid doing laundry if you are experiencing any discoloration,” the village said.
On Monday morning, a pump malfunctioned at the water plant and caused too much of a non-harmful chemical to be released into the water system.
