WILLOW WOOD — There’s a reason the Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans are ranked eighth in the current Association Press Division IV poll.
The Lady Titans — behind 6-foot-4 Katie Dettwiller — beat the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings 52-22 in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Thursday.
Dettwiller — a senior — had 15 points and Isabel Cassidy scored 12 as the Lady Titans remained unbeaten in 13 games.
Rachael Hayes scored 17 points and had two steals for the Lady Vikings. Taylor Sells had 10 rebounds and two steals.
Dettwiller scored nine points in the first quarter, Olivia Smith had four and Cassidy hit a 3-pointer as Notre Dame took a 16-12 lead.
The Lady Vikings (7-5, 3-5) stayed close as Hayes hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 points.
But Hayes had the lone Symmes Valley field goal in the second quarter as the Lady Titans went up 35-14 at the half.
Symmes Valley scored just eight points in the second half.
The Lady Vikings host Sciotoville East next Thursday.
