Will take place after county commission meeting
PEDRO — A groundbreaking ceremony for Lawrence County EMS station 6 will take place today following the Lawrence County Commission meeting at the location.
The station, which will be at the Rock Hill School grounds at the corner of County Road 26 and Township Road 218, was made possible by the passage of the EMS levy in the November 2017 election.
Lawrence County EMS currently serves Lawrence County’s 453 square miles, 62,000 citizens and visitors from five stations with six paramedic-staffed ALS ambulances, and responds to more than 12,000 emergency calls annually. The Rock Hill station will also carry a 24-hour paramedic-staffed ALS ambulance.
The commission meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the site, with the ground breaking immediately following.
