Terry Holzhauser

July 16, 1964 — July 13, 2018

Terry Lynn Holzhauser, 53, of Ironton, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center Ironton Campus ER, Ironton. Terry was born in Madisonville, Kentucky on July 16, 1964, a son of Albert and Ruby Holzhauser. He is also survived by his loving wife and best friend, Jeri (Rowe) Holzhauser.
Terry was a 1983 graduate of West Hopkins High School, who enjoyed motorcycling, four-wheelers and Jeeping with his wife. He also enjoyed hanging out in the garage with his buddies and was a proud member of the “Red Neck Association.” Terry worked as a self-employed contractor and was of the Christian faith. He loved his work, but his true passion was helping others.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is also survived by two sons, David and Trevor Holzhauser; two daughters, Emily Holzhauser and Ashley (Alex) Edwards; five grandchildren, Lex, Viktor, Dalton, Delaynee and Dylan; two brothers, Ricky and Charles Holzhauser; two sisters, Jeannie (Pat) Taylor and Patricia (John) Sadler; multiple nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; as well as countless friends; and one special buddy, Tanky McFann.
A celebration of life service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be Saturday at Old Suthards Cemetery in Madisonville, Kentucky. Arthur Dillon

Jan. 22, 1924 — July 14, 2018

Arthur “Tuck” Emerson Dillon, 94, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born Jan. 22, 1924, the son of the late Eva and the Rev. S.J. Dillon. He is survived by his wife, Alberta McCarley Dillon, whom he married Feb. 7, 1943.
Mr. Dillon was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant Schools and a member of Zoar Baptist Church. In 1968, he surrendered his life to ministry and spent the last 50 years pastoring several area churches. He is a United States Navy veteran and a former maintenance worker for Allied Chemical, where he retired in 1976 after 30 years of service. He was also a board member of the Dawson-Bryant School District.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dianna Gail Garrison, of Gary, Indiana, and Patricia Ann (Tom) Keller, of Alabama; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Arthur Tony Dillon; seven brothers, Robert, Marshall, Forrest, Ralph, Samuel, Walter and Carl; three sisters, Edna Browning, Avanelle Dillon; and an indant child; and one grandson, Scott Ross.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Jeremy Dillon and Kevin Willis officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Jeffery Vanderhoof

Feb. 4, 1953 — July 14, 2018

Jeffery Lynn (Jeff) Vanderhoof, 65, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at his residence. Jeff was born in Ironton on Feb. 4, 1953, a son of Helen Willis Vanderhoof Turner, of Ironton, and the late Robert Vanderhoof. He is also survived by his loving wife, Sue (Schaffer) Vanderhoof, whom he married May 19, 1990.
Jeff was a graduate of Coal Grove High School and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Deering. He was a member of the United States Air Force (1971-1974), Ohio National Guard (1974-1976), United States Navy (1985-1989) and the United States Navy Reserve (1989-1995). He retired from Haverhill Chemicals and, in his spare time, enjoyed woodworking, camping, classic cars and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mike Vanderhoof.
Jeff is also survived by his two daughters, Jennifer (Michael Wilburn) Pleasants, of Coal Grove, and Ali Cronacher Burns, of Columbia, South Carolina; his two sons, Jason Vanderhoof, of Coal Grove, and Andrew (Tyler) Fortman, of Chicago, Illinois; and his two brothers, Ronald D. (Regina) Vanderhoof, of Ironton, and Scott (Kelli) Vanderhoof, of Bellevue, Nebraska.
His kind heart and gentile spirit will be remembered by his four grandchildren, Austen Pleasants, of Athens, Arik Pleasants, of Coal Grove, Jillian Burns, of Columbia, South Carolina, and Remington Vanderhoof, of Coal Grove; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton. Following visitation hours, a memorial service will begin at noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Deron Newman officiating. Burial will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, Greenup, Kentucky, following the service, with military graveside rites provided by VFW Post 93.
