Drug charges make up more than half

A Lawrence County grand jury returned May indictments to the county prosecutor’s office, with more than half being drug-related charges.

• James B. Barton, 46, of 415 Etna St., Apt. D, Russell, Kentucky; fifth-degree possession of drugs (methamphetamine) and fifth-degree possession of heroin.

• Urian M. Benicker, 34, of 711 ½ Vernon St., Ironton; second-degree complicity to aggravated trafficking in drugs.

• Christina D. Anderson, 39, of 2023 State Route 243, Coal Grove; third-degree tampering with evidence, fifth-degree possession of drugs (methamphetamine), two counts of fourth-degree trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine), and second-degree aggravated trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine).

• Michelle N. Boothe, 38, of 1405 S. Sixth St., Ironton; second-degree illegal cultivation of marijuana and endangering children, a first-degree misdemeanor.

• Zachary Dunn, 26, of 105 Township Road 124, Chesapeake; fifth-degree possession of heroin.

• Eric M. Maddix, 31, of 2044 Ike Patton Drive, Ashland, Kentucky; fifth-degree possession of heroin and fifth-degree possession of drugs (methamphetamine).

• Misty Robinson, 43, of 2212 N. Fifth St., Ironton; fifth-degree possession of drugs (methamphetamine) and possessing drug abuse instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor.

• Wanda L. Jenkins, 55, of 401 Center St., Apt. 8, Ironton; third-degree tampering with evidence, possession of drugs (Diazepam), a first-degree misdemeanor, and resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor.

• Sasha L. Adkins, 24, of 815 S. Ninth St., Apt. D, Ironton; fifth-degree possession of heroin.

• Kendrick Jones, 38, of 511 S. 10th St., Ironton; fifth-degree possession of drugs (methamphetamine) and fifth-degree possession of heroin.

• Lansen S. Waugh, 38, of 1135 Hildreth Ave., Columbus; fifth-degree possession of drugs (Tramadol) and fifth-degree trafficking in drugs (Tramadol).

• Marlon D. McGhee, 31, of 1320 Oakwood Ave., Columbus; fifth-degree possession of drugs (Oxycodone) and fourth-degree trafficking in drugs (Oxycodone).

• William A. Howell, 42, of 2009 S. Seventh St., Ironton; fifth-degree possession of drugs (methamphetamine).

• Tara R. Roar, 37, of 1023 Ridge Court, Wayne, West Virginia; third-degree aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine) and possession of drugs (Alprazolam), a first-degree misdemeanor.

• Brian A. Carmon, 34, of 112 Remy St., Coal Grove; fifth-degree possession of drugs (methamphetamine).

• Austin T. Pemberton, 19, of 1105 McGovney St., Ironton; fifth-degree possession of drugs (methamphetamine).

• William Z. Earls, 29, of 183 Township Road 1317, Apt. 7; fifth-degree possession of drugs (methamphetamine).

• Derrick D. Braxton, 37, of 10 Private Drive 15, Apt. A, South Point; second-degree trafficking in cocaine and second-degree possession of cocaine.

• Carl E. Thompson, 41, of 465 29th St., Ashland, Kentucky; third-degree illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility or institution, fifth-degree possession of cocaine, fifth-degree possession of heroin and obstructing official business, a second-degree misdemeanor.

• George A. Tredway, 43, of 502 County Road 123, Chesapeake; fifth-degree theft.

• Brittney R. McComis AKA Brittney R. Jones, 35, of 14347 Twin Ridge Court, Ashland, Kentucky; two counts of second-degree improperly discharging firearm at or into a habitation and third-degree theft of a firearm.

• Chad A. Lloyd, 24, of 5334 Main Drive, Charleston, West Virginia; two counts of fourth-degree theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of fifth-degree criminal simulation.

• Christopher L. Dishman, 49, of 1923 Liberty Ave., Ironton; fourth-degree improperly handing firearms in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor.

• Gary McComas, 22, of 2442 Harvey Road, Huntington, West Virginia; fourth-degree  improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

• Ryan K. Edwards, 43, of 91 Township Road 1090, Proctorville; fourth-degree theft of a motor vehicle.

• Ginger Riffe, 45, of 1925 Robinson Ave., Portsmouth; fourth-degree receiving stolen property.

• Johnny E. Keaton Jr., 26, of 133 Township Road 332, Ironton; second-degree burglary.

• Brian D. Benicker, 37, c/o Lawrence County Jail; three counts of third-degree intimidation.

• Christopher G. Akers, 49, of 363 Private Road 4460, Pedro; first-degree aggravated robbery, third-degree having weapons while under disability and fourth-degree carrying concealed  weapons.

• Frank G. Lewis, 36, of 317 ½ Kemp Ave., Ironton; third-degree tampering with evidence and fifth-degree theft.

• Nancy A. Walker, 37, of 1807 Ellen Drive, Flatwoods, Kentucky; fifth-degree theft.

• George M. Massie, 35, of 1116 County Road 182, Kitts Hill; third-degree having weapons while under disability and domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor.

An indictment is a formal allegation that an individual has committed a crime. All are innocent until proven guilty in court.
