Eddy Test winners announced

Banquet set for May 10
The Ironton Child Welfare Club announced the winners of this year’s Eddy Test, which was given to the highest 25 percent of sixth graders from Ironton Middle School and St. Lawrence Catholic School.
The evaluation was based upon state or national testing, as of March 15, and included reading vocabulary, reading comprehension, math problem solving, math computation, language, spelling, science and social studies criteria.
Winners from Ironton Elementary School were Creighton Bryant, son of James and Sherri Bishop and Larry and Opal Bryant; Bryson Burcham, son of Michael and April Burcham; Eric Dutey, son of Jim and Denise Dutey; Hunter Freeman, son of Joshua and Jill Freeman; Bella Kleiber, daughter of Sara Scior and John Kleiber; Danielle Leonard, daughter of Ron and Missy Leonard; Connor McDaniel, son of J.D. and Kelli McDaniel; Brady Medinger, son of Dr. Nick Medinger and Mrs. Mandy Medinger; Sascha Posch, son of Kristin Whitehead; Thomas Sheridan, son of Louie Sheridan and Debbie Douglas; and Evelyn Smith, daughter of Will and Gwen Smith.
Winners from St. Lawrence School were Meleah Jankowski, daughter of Dr. James Jankowski and Mrs. Adrianne Jankowski; and Ava Weber, daughter of Dr. Nick Weber and Mrs. Mary Beth Weber.
The Ironton Child Welfare Club established the Eddy Test program 57 years ago to identify students who have attained superior academic achievement in the sixth grade, and remains the club’s most enduring project.
The top one-third of the participants, along with their parents, will be honored as Eddy Test winners at a banquet on Thursday, May 10.
